Rose (Rosa Damascena) Petal Distilled Aromatic Water
The roses for this aromatic water are grown at high altitude (HA) and are distilled in the field to produce a divine water.
This delightful aromatic water is often selected by animals with emotional issues linked to youth, previous bad treatment and/or hormonal problems – many animals ask for this to be gently stroked on neck, forehead, chest & other areas.
It is also very useful as a reassuring spray (rose is the only EO known to work directly on adrenaline) & this aromatic water can be used to create a gentle mist in potentially stressful areas or situations (loading etc).
Astringent & cooling to the skin it is a lovely tonic for human skin & can safely be used around eyes (animal & human) to soothe redness & irritation.
The rose has always been associated with love, compassion, perfection and beauty, and is sacred to Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. In Ancient Persia it was considered a panacea. The damask rose was the first to be used for making rose water in the 10th Century. Pliny listed 32 medicines that could be prepared from roses. The rose has also been associated with secrecy – it was suspended from the ceiling at meetings which were held in the strictest of confidence, placed by the confessional in Roman Catholic churches and used as symbol (placed at the centre of a cross) by the secret Rosicrucian society, founded by philosophers and alchemists in the 15th Century. Culpeper used rose as an anti-inflammatory remedy.
